IMAX and premium tickets go on sale; AMC's app stalls under demand
Premium-format tickets went on sale six weeks out, with standard showtimes held back until later. AMC's app paused and queues reached an hour on AMC and Fandango.
Why it matters
Releasing premium seats first, a month before standard ones, pushed early buyers to the highest-priced screens.
