Lucasfilm announces a Mandalorian film directed by Jon Favreau
StarWars.com announced The Mandalorian and Grogu, directed by Favreau and produced with Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni. It was named as the film leading Lucasfilm's feature slate, already in production.
Why it matters
The first Star Wars film announced after The Rise of Skywalker came from the franchise's biggest streaming hit, not from the saga.
